eBay VINTAGE ENGRAVING NAPOLEONIC SOLDIERS, POSTE AVANCE, E. MEISSONIER VINTAGE ENGRAVING NAPOLEONIC SOLDIERS, POSTE AVANCE, E. MEISSONIER. This listing is for an detailed engraving that came from a hard cover portfolio book titled: OEUVRES COMPLETES DE E. MEISSONIER, Paris, E. Lecadre & Cie. Editeurs, 56 Rue De La Rochefoucauld 56, 1884. The large page features a center embossed edge engraving with publishers information on bottom line under the title. The image is crisp and clear and features a group of Napoleonic horse soldiers taking a break along a trail in the countryside. There is a “signature” in lower right of the engraving E. Meissonier with the date 1869. Directly below the engraving on the left is printed E. MEISSONIER PT. and the lower right HELIOG DUJARDIN and in the center is the title: POSTE AVANCE. The image alone measures approx. 8-1/8″ wide BY 6″; and the overall sheet measures 25″ wide BY 17-5/8″. There is some foxing on the sheet and slight discoloration on edges of the large sheet. When packed SECURELY for shipping, the weight is 1 pound 4 ounces, shipping box measures 5 x 8 x 20. It will be rolled. Additional engravings purchased at the same time, depending on how many, may have to be shipped together in a large flat box. Please pay close attention to photos for best description of condition, AND see additional engravings I have listed, thank you.
